Airport Campus

At Groningen Airport Eelde, education and practice are seamlessly integrated. Students learn theory and apply it directly within the dynamic setting of daily airport activities.

Air Cabin Crew, Travel and Tourism

The Air Cabin Crew, Travel and Tourism programme of Noorderpoort has been active at Groningen Airport Eelde since 2022 and became fully established at the airport in 2025. Students attend classes four days per week in the terminal, where they develop skills in check-in, boarding and hospitality while contributing to daily airport operations. This practice oriented approach strengthens their abilities and directly connects education with professional practice.

KLM Flight Academy

Since 1954 KLM Flight Academy has been based at Groningen Airport Eelde as the successor to the Dutch National Aviation School. Each year the academy trains around 70 students to become pilots and accommodates 140 students on campus. With professional flight training and extensive facilities, the academy is an indispensable part of the pilot training landscape at the airport.

Ambition

Groningen Airport Eelde is evolving into an educational cluster where theory and practice are closely integrated. Students and professionals gain direct experience in aviation operations while working together on real-world challenges. This connection ensures that knowledge is applied immediately, skills develop faster, and cooperation with industry and government is a natural part of the process.
