How will you get to Groningen Airport Eelde?

Your journey starts as soon as you leave home for the airport. Are you coming by public transport or your own car? Groningen Airport Eelde is easily accessible and is about 15 kilometres from Groningen.

From 16 March 2026, construction of a new roundabout will begin on Groningerstraat, on the west side of the A28 (De Punt). This may temporarily affect the accessibility of Groningen Airport Eelde.

Please allow for detours and additional travel time between 16 March and 6 May 2026. From 28 April to 6 May, the on- and off-ramps of the A28 and Groningerstraat will be completely closed.

The roundabout will reopen to traffic on 6 May at 17:00 (5:00 PM).

Parking in front of the terminal

By car

It is easy to reach Groningen Airport Eelde by car via the A28* (Groningen - Assen), exit 37. Parking options are excellent. Choose P1, 2, or 3 and park within walking distance of the terminal.

Public transport

You can easily reach the airport by buss via line 9 (Groningen - Eelde). Travellers from the Assen direction can take bussline 50 (Assen - Groningen) to De Punt. De Punt is about 0.5 kilometres from the airport. Here you can easily change to line 9. You can get on/off at the 'Eelde Airport' stop located on Burgemeester J. G. Legroweg. This is a 350-metre walk from the terminal.

Do you live nearby? Then you can also come by bike. The airport is easily accessible by bike. There are good cycle paths and you can park your bike safely at the airport.
