Groningen Airport Eelde is easily accessible by public transport. Whether you’re travelling from Groningen or Assen, the bus will get you to the terminal quickly and comfortably. This way, you can start your journey relaxed and sustainably.

From Groningen

From the city of Groningen, take bus line 9 (Groningen – Eelde). This bus runs several times per hour from the main station, Groningen Central, and stops at various points throughout the city. In about 30 minutes, you can get off at the ‘Eelde Airport’ stop on Burgemeester J.G. Legroweg. From there, it’s about a 350-metre walk to the terminal.

During peak hours, there is also an extra bus service: bus 209. This bus runs directly from Groningen via Eelde to the airport and stops right in front of the terminal. This is the fastest option if you’re travelling during busy times in the morning and afternoon — perfect for commuters, business travellers, and early flights.

From Assen

Travellers from Assen take bus line 50 (Assen – Groningen) towards Groningen. Get off at the ‘De Punt’ stop. From there, you can transfer to bus line 9 towards Eelde Airport. The ‘De Punt’ stop is about 0.5 kilometres from the airport.

Prefer to walk? From De Punt, you can also take a short walk of about 10 minutes to the terminal.

  • Luggage: Buses are suitable for hand luggage and small suitcases.
