For security reasons, it is not possible to bring your luggage earlier and return it later yourself. This applies to all flights.

There are no baggage lockers at Groningen Airport Eelde.

Taking medicines with you requires a doctor's or pharmacist's certificate.

Always make sure you take your medicine in your hand luggage, i.e. not in the luggage that goes through the check-in desk to the cargo hold. We also recommend bringing the English-language prescription of the medicine with you, so that you can show it if customs or security officials ask about your medicines or hypodermic needles. Injection needles should be properly packed. Medicines that need to be kept cool are best brought in refrigerated bags or vacuum flasks within the applicable hand luggage regulations. There is no refrigeration facility on board.

Medicines and diet food are allowed in your hand luggage. The packaging may be larger than 100ml. If you are travelling with a baby (up to 1.5 years old), baby food may also travel in your hand luggage.

How much luggage (hand and hold luggage) you can take with you varies from airline to airline! Generally, the maximum allowance is stated on your ticket. In case of excess baggage, a fee per kilo may be charged. Excess baggage may also be refused.

If you fly with Transavia, you can only take dogs and cats with you. Your dog or cat is transported in the cargo hold in a kennel or in the cabin in a pet bag. Dogs and cats are always transported at the passenger's risk. Read more information.

You can of course take your buggy or pram with you when you depart from Groningen Airport Eelde. Buggies and prams must be registered at check-in. You can continue to use the buggy/pushchair until boarding starts. The buggy/pram must then be folded and handed in at the aircraft stairs, after which it will be loaded into a separate area in the hold. On return to Groningen Airport Eelde, the buggies and prams are unloaded first. They arrive first at the baggage carousel in the arrivals hall. Maxi-Cosi's can generally be taken into the passenger compartment. If there is not enough room, it can still be decided that the Maxi-Cosi should be taken into the cargo hold. The crew's decision here is binding.

Special rules apply to liquids. Liquids, gels and aerosols in hand baggage may only be carried in small quantities (max. 100 ml each), and properly packed. This applies to all passengers departing from, or transferring to, an airport within the European Union. The new rules apply to liquids such as water and other drinks for consumption. It also applies to gels, pastes, lotions and the contents of aerosols. So toiletries such as toothpaste, shaving cream, hair gel, lip gloss and creams are also covered.

You may not carry sharp and pointed objects in your hand baggage. If these are nevertheless found at the security check, you can voluntarily relinquish them or possibly give the items to the person who brought you. You may also carry these items in the baggage you check in. You will not get any returned items back, nor will you be compensated for them.
