Travelling with children
Travelling is a great adventure for children. But beware, if you are travelling with underage children, keep in mind rules and regulations from the government and your airline. Therefore, always check with your airline what you need to know about flying with children before you travel.
Consent from the parents
If you are travelling alone with a minor child (up to 18 years old), you must have permission from the parent(s), guardian or someone else who has custody of the child. You should use a consent form for this purpose. If you travel without proof of permission, the Royal Military Police (Koninklijke Marechaussee may stop you. This rule applies to prevent child abduction.
From what age can a child fly alone?
Minor children are not allowed to travel without an adult escort. The minimum age of children and authorised escorts varies from airline to airline. Some airlines offer a paid escort service. Children are taken care of at Groningen Airport Eelde and receive personal supervision during the flight and at the destination airport. Check with your airline what the regulations are.
