Relaxed flights to Crete
Crete is the largest island in Greece and the southernmost in Europe. Its size makes it a versatile holiday destination and there are still many undiscovered spots to be found. With a hire car (highly recommended!) you have enough freedom to discover the island at your own pace. From hidden bays to charming villages and from extraordinary excavations hundreds of years old to lush nature. And of course you also have the walhalla for going out for the young, Hersonissos. In Crete, you'll be treated to something new every day. What are you waiting for? Book your holiday >>

City Heraklion
Heraklion is an awesome city where there is plenty to do. With the hop on hop off bus, you visit the city's main cultural hotspots. Like the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion (where the mysterious disc of Phaistos can be admired), the Agios Titos church or the Venetian harbour. And when in Heraklion, you really can't skip a visit to Knossos. This ancient palace city is one of the oldest cities in Europe, where many impressive archaeological finds have been unearthed. As such, it is Crete's most important historical site.
Discover Rethymon
About 80 kilometres west of Heraklion you will find Rethymnon, a well-known seaside resort worth visiting during your holidays on Crete. Here you will find, among other things, great wide sandy beaches, a bustling boulevard, a nice (old) city centre and a cosy Venetian harbour. The centre is rich in picturesque streets with numerous shops, bars and eateries. Here you will also find the Rethymnon Fortress, an old castle with archaeological remains from where you have a great view over the city. And: in early July, you can also enjoy Rethymnon's annual wine festival here!

Crete on your Bucket List
Everything that makes a holiday in Greece so unique can be found in Crete. Think of the many beautiful pearly white beaches and azure waters. Or the white-coloured houses in lovely fishing villages that exude the Greek ambiance. Or how you can discover the rich Greek history on Crete. For example, in the palace city of Knossos or on the leprosy island of Spinalonga. But the Greek island is also characterised by sensational natural areas. Ranging from rugged mountain landscapes and immense gorges, to palm forests like you have never seen them before. In short, a holiday on Crete belongs on your bucket list.

Enjoy Greece
- Eating times in Greece are slightly different and most restaurants do not open until around 18:00 or 19:00 in the evening.
- Put on water shoes if you go into the sea: as sea urchins are especially common on rocky beaches.
- Mezze are small Greek snacks you can order as lunch or an appetiser. Definitely worth tasting!
