Fly in a relaxed way to The Channel Islands

Most islands are autonomously owned by the British Crown, but do not belong to the United Kingdom or British Overseas Territories. Nor are they part of the European Union. The 'Baljuwschap' of Guernsey (Bailiwick of Guernsey) consists of the islands of Guernsey, Alderney, Herm, Sark and a number of smaller islands. Channel Island Jersey falls under the Bailiwick of Jersey. Located some 20 kilometres off the coast of Normandy, you will find English tradition uniquely combined with a touch of French charm.

The Channel Islands are a true paradise for anyone who likes to be outdoors. The huge difference between low and high tide makes the islands change shape completely twice a day. Spring starts early and summers are balmy thanks to a warm Gulf Stream. Among hikers - experienced and inexperienced - the kilometres of coastline trails with the most beautiful views are very popular. The unspoilt nature, green landscapes - interspersed with (French) vineyards, beautiful flower fields and magnificent cliffs - make the Channel Islands a stunning holiday destination. And so close to home.

Guernsey

On departure from our airport to the Channel Islands, you will land on Guernsey. Guernsey is the second largest Channel Island. Jersey is the largest. Despite its size of just 78 km2 - the city of Groningen is 83.72 km - Guernsey is very diverse. Wide (and clean) sandy beaches on one side, rocky cliffs and sensational bays on the other side of the island. Walking on Guernsey is an unforgettable experience with its impressive nature and idyllic views. Furthermore, Little Chapel is one of the most visited sights on Guernsey. As the name suggests; it is a small church. What is special about it is that it is built with shells, pebbles and shards.

Saint Peter Port

Guernsey airport is about three kilometres from the capital Saint Peter Port. This is the island's capital. Or, well, capital we should really say with its population of less than 20,000. A picturesque town with winding streets (almost too narrow for cars), colourful markets and authentic shops. Absolutely worth a visit. So, what are you waiting for? Island hopping between Channel Islands

During your  Guernsey holiday, you can easily island hop between other Channel Islands. Which, by the way, we highly recommend you do. All have their own distinctive and high-profile elements worth exploring. Jersey, for instance, has a much more global feel than atmospheric Guernsey. Herm, on the other hand, is an oasis of calm, with just one hotel, one pub and two shops. You won't find public transport or bicycles on this smallest Channel Island. Hilly Sark is perhaps the most picturesque of all the Channel Islands and a paradise for keen walkers. All the Channel Islands are relatively small - you can really explore them well - yet versatile. You can go island-hopping on your own, but combination trips can be booked on www.sunair.nl. Then everything will be arranged for you, from breakfast to accommodation.

Holiday Channel Islands

Book your holiday on Sunair.nl or with your travel consultant. Good to know: a combination trip to one of the other islands such as Jersey, Herm and Sark is also possible.
